Tomokichiro Tokuriki

Tomokichiro Tokuriki 1902-1999, was a charming man, and a good friend of Luber Gallery. He was born in Kyoto, and celebrated his hometown, by making woodblock prints of the city. He attended the School of Fine Arts and Crafts. After the war, he established his own printing company, which we visited every time we were in Kyoto. Tokuriki was a passionate Sosaku Hanga artist but made his living printing in the contemporary style of Shin Hanga. Aside from wonderful woodblock prints, he also designed kimono fabrics, and always enjoyed the traditional Japanese te ceremony. All of the prints on this site were from his studio, and all pencil signed by Tokriki.
